I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to the officers & committee for their generous hospitality, for inviting me to judge at my first championship show appointment also to my two very efficient stewards who were very helpful. Thank you to the exhibitors for supporting me and their good grace for accepting my decisions. I throughly enjoyed my day.
I had a lovely quality entry. All the hounds were well presented and in a muscular condition, teeth were clean and nails short. Overall the fronts on our deerhounds have improved, but would like more width across the hips. The hind movement on some dogs was a little close behind.

Well grown youngster, masculine head with dark eyes & ears. Well knuckled feet. Good angulation front & rear, deep chest which should deepen with maturity. Moved true.

1st Grimshaw’s Greyflax Diamond Joe At Jamalison
Typical head with that soft expression. Lovely reach of neck leading to a well laid shoulder. Good depth of chest and spring of rib. Moved sound in profile but a little close behind on going away movement.

1st Swanson’s Cotherstone Dallas Dhu Of Altimarlach
Dark coated dog with dark eyes and small ears. In good condition and well muscled. Well laid shoulder, with good angulation. Moved out soundly, but rather straight in top line.
2nd Samways Erpingham Magnus Cassacre
Lighter grey. Masculine head with dark eyes. Deep chested dog, with good tuck up. Good length from hip to hock. Moved sound. Well presented and handled.

Dark dog, very shapely, masculine head and expression. Well set on neck with deep chest for plenty of heart, lung room. Correct top line and tuck up, has of plenty width to thigh, low hocks. Well balanced throughout. Moved with purpose. DCC.
2nd Cummings Killoeter Tam Dubh
Masculine dog with plenty of substance. Good angulation front & rear. Deep chest & spring of rib. Moved out soundly. Tends to ring his tail.

Handsome strong well built male. Good bone. Powerful neck leading to well laid shoulder. Great spring of rib. Plenty of width to hindquarters moved out soundly. RDCC.
2nd Morton & Morgan Hyndsight Pilgrim
Good head and expression, lovely small dark ears. Well off for bone, well muscled. Not the forechest of 1st. Excellent feet, low hocks. Unsettled on the move.
3rd Baumann & Lucas Packway Loxley Norton.

Sweet head, with lovey dark eyes. Neat dark ears. Correct shoulder placement with good return of upper arm. Good bend of stifle. Correct top line and tuck up. Moved out well.
2nd Swanson’s Altimarlach Archangel
Feminine head and expression. Small ears and dark eyes. Strong neck, into well laid shoulders. Deep chest and good tuck up. Moved soundly.

Feminine bitch full of quality. Pretty head with that soft expression. Good reach of neck leading to correct shoulder placement and return of upper arm. Light flowing movement, holding her top line very balanced. RBCC.
2nd Spence’s Shagiead Stormy Seas (AI)
Feminine head and expression. Dark eyes and small ears. Good reach of neck leading to well laid shoulder. Good angulation to front and rear. Correct top line. Well knuckled feet. Moved out soundly. Not the maturity of 1st.

Lovely light grey bitch. Feminine head, with dark eyes and small dark ears. Good reach of neck. Balanced angulation. Moved sound in profile. Slightly close on going away.
2nd Hawkins Kaleginy Thistle At Kwaricott
Litter sister to one, pretty head with dark eyes and neat ears. Deep brisket, good tuck up. Correct top line. Sound movement. Just prefer shape of 1st on the day. Both these bitches I am sure will change places on another day.

Mature bitch with good bone. Nicely muscled, deep chest. Would like more angulation to shoulder. Good bend of stifle. Covered the ground well.

Quality bitch, very curvaceous. Darkest of eyes with a soft faraway expression, neat small ears. Good bone and substance. Balanced angulation to front and rear. Great depth of chest with good ribbing. Lovely width behind. Movement was textbook easy active and true, covering the ground. Happy to award her BCC, & BOB . Lovely to watch her move in the hound group which she went onto win. Many Congratulations.

Elegant feminine bitch. Good bone. Strong neck leading to correct shoulder placement. Deep chested with correct tuck up. Well angulated hindquarters, light and flowing in her movement, covering the ground.
